Good to hear your gift has family history as well as military history. Thank you in advance and merry Christmas! Whether it has an interesting history or a very boring one, I am dying to know. That is it.Īny and all help I can get in tracking down where it was used in service, who it was issued to, ect, would be greatly appreciated. The few things I do know about this particular M1, due to how my Grandfather acquired it, is that it was built during the WW2 era, and should be 100% original. I am looking for any information, assistance, ect that I can get in tracking down the history on this rifle. What brought me here is that I was recently given my Grandfather's Springfield Armory M1 Garand, this was not his personal service weapon during WW2, but has been in my family for decades now, and will be for many more years to come. First of all, as a new user here, greetings everyone!
